This is a group of churches throughout Yorkshire that belong to the Baptist Union. The YBA organises a variety of conferences, seminars and other events, together with a wide range of other resources to support local churches.
We are also affiliated to the Baptist Union of Great Britain. This makes us part of one of the mainstream denominations in Britain today. Our focus is Meanwood and we "do our own thing" here but we do share common beliefs with many other Christians.
Alpha is a national initiative that sprang from Holy Trinity Brompton Church in central London. It offers a format that provides an informal but serious look at some of the questions that people are always asking and probably think of as "religious".
The Ship of Fools is a bit of a sideswipe at institutional religion. We believe that Truth (with a capital T) should be capable of standing up to some healthy criticism. One of the most effective tests is whether or not we can laugh at ourselves...
The "Jubilee Debt Campaign" is a pressure group that is campaigning for the countries of the so-called "First World" (i.e., the rich ones like Britain) to release the poorest countries of the world from their crippling burdens of debt to us.
